The Vein Center of New Mexico is an IAC accredited Vein Center. Accreditation by the IAC means that Vein Center of New Mexico has voluntarily undergone a thorough review of its operational and technical components by a panel of experts. The IAC grants accreditation only to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care, in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive application process including a detailed review of selected patient procedures.

IAC accreditation is a “seal of approval” that patients can rely on as an indication that the vein center’s processes and procedures have been carefully evaluated by medical experts in the field of treatment and management of superficial venous disorders.

The Vein Center of New Mexico is also a Premiere Center of Excellence as awarded by Best Vein Care, which awards vein care centers that have demonstrated the highest quality of overall patient care. These centers have exceeded standards in one of the following categories; comprehensive services, safety, patient satisfaction, procedural monitoring, continual quality improvement and community activity. To be recognized as a Best Vein Care Center of Excellence, centers must follow a three-part application process that involves validation of the physician provider, self-assessment of the center, and a site visit.

American Venous Registry
The American Venous Registry (AVR) is the major nationwide online registry that is focused on venous disease. It was developed in 2009, and is the biggest database of its kind in the world, containing more than 10,000 procedures. Every year, the Vein Center of NM provides complete outcome data to the AVR in order to improve patient care and compare our results with those of other centers. The data is an invaluable resource for quality control and research.

National Venous Screening Program
The National Venous Screening Program (NVSP) was designed to bring national awareness to venous disease and problems, just as has been done for heart and arterial vascular disease. The monthly screenings held by the Vein Center of NM seek to inform the public about risks and effects of vein disease, such as clots in the superficial and deep venous systems, spider and larger varicosities, varicose vein bleeding and venous ulcers. Our screenings are free to the public.
