Varicose Veins
What are Varicose Veins?
Varicose Veins are the large, “ropey” blue veins that extend across the thigh or the calf. They’re related to poor valve function in the major superficial veins themselves. They cause symptoms such as aching, pain and burning, and can progress to a chronically swollen disfigured leg. Varicose veins are a medical issue and NOT cosmetic. Treatment for these veins is usually covered by insurance.

Evaluation and treatment of your Varicose Veins
Modern technology has enabled us to completely eliminate the traumatic and outmoded process of “vein stripping” – so don’t worry – we DO NOT do that procedure, ever! We treat varicose veins using one of two methods: Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT) and/or Ambulatory Phlebectomy (AP).
What to Expect after your Varicose Vein Treatment
Immediately following treatment expect to see bruising, red spots, localized swelling and heat sensation. Gradual closure occurs over days to weeks. Treatments are spaced at multiple intervals depending on the severity of the situation. There is never “one-stop shopping” in treatment strategies!
